What is your earliest memory of playing in nature? Picture books?

Playing at Kindy in the sandpit and sitting in the crops eating peas from a pod. I remember Little Golden Books, especially The Pokey Little Puppy.

How do play, picture books and nature impact the whole child?

Play is a safe place to learn all the skills you need as a human. Picture books provide a window into other worlds and a place to share stories. Nature allows children to be and explore.

Do you have any favorite games, picture books, and things to do in nature?

My favorite game/activity is playdough. My favorite picture book mine, BEDTIME, DADDY! My favorite place in nature is the beach. I love swimming and beach-combing.

How do you connect to the 4 P’s philosophy?

I believe strongly in play based learning in my early childhood classroom. Young children need to play and move.
