No snow. . .

The meteorologists predicted snow this weekend, They were sorta right. We got a little bit more of a dusting. Maybe is an incorrect memory, but snow seemed to be a much more frequent part of winters growing up. I loved it. I went sledding, built snowmen, and dreamt of snow days from school. As an adult, I do enjoy snowshoeing and winter views, but snow driving and snow removal make the thought of snowstorms stressful.

Last year, we didn’t get much snow but the vast majority came in a two day period. In fact, about eighteen inches fell. Removing that snow in our u-shaped driveway and pathway down to the barn was tricky with a basic snowblower. The fact that the driveway was all gravel made it even more difficult.

So when the decision was made tp purchase a tractor. we decided to invest in a snowblower implement. While there were some impressive (and expensive) options to choose from, we decided to go very basic. It was still an upgrade , but definitely not the most powerful option.

However, when our tractor and implements were delivered, we noticed the more powerful model was dropped off. Our sales guy mentioned another nearby customer was looking to part with their blower even though it was never used. Because the dealer couldn’t re-sell this unit as new, they “gifted” us this stronger model for the price of the smaller version. Lucky us.

Now, will we ever have to use it?
