Exhaustingly Exhilarating

Ever tried herding cats? On snowshoes?

Snowshoeing can be an arduous physical task. Snowshoeing with children can add some drama and theatrics. Snowshoeing with inexperienced children hitting the trails for their initial snowshoe voyage seems downright crazy, right?

Maybe, but it is certainly exhaustingly exhilarating.

While being an ultimate test of patience and persistence, the promotion of risk-taking and resiliency associated with snowshoeing makes any tears and fears worthwhile.

Once kids get their shoes on, the goal is keeping them on.

Once they stay on, the goal is to keep moving.

Once you’re moving, the goal is to stay upright.

For as long as you can.

It comes with some frustration, but with everything else, practice makes progress.

Though snowshoeing exercises muscles you didn’t now you even had, the workout it gives your soul is much more lasting.
