Play Every Day
2020 certainly had struggles, but this tumultuous year did bring some positives to light. For example, 2020 shed a light on the importance of play. So, what better time than now to make 2021 the year of play.
Whether it is a classic board game, a walk in nature, or some impromptu art project, play is everywhere. You can find and add playfulness in every thing you do. Play can be planned. Play can be unexpected. Play can be long. Play can be short. Play can be inside. Or outside. Play can be alone. Or in small groups. Or in large groups. Or in even larger groups. Play is a uniter. The joy of play can be found in its flexibility. Play has no specific definition and can mean something different to anyone.
Regardless of what play means to you, it is important that you play. Every day.
But we can do more. Let’s share our play and set the world of play in motion. Using the #playeveryday hashtag, let’s fill up social media with our moments of play. I also encourage you to share your playful moments on my Facebook (Peter Dargatz - Teaching Off Trail).
Together, let’s make 2021 the year of play.
