That First Step. . .

Lately, I’ve been mulling over some pretty major decisions. Thinking about these reminded me of previous decision I’ve made that have altered the direction of my personal and professional career. Regardless of the outcome, the first step in whatever decisiion being made is always the hardest.

But despite being the hardest, it is often the most important.

With my own children and my students, taking first steps is a monumental moment. Seeing those initial steps evolve into full blown journeys is one of the most rewarding parts of being a parent and teacher. However, when those first steps are my own, celebrating them is usually far from my mind. Unfortunately, the stressors and demands of daily life often interfere with one’s ability to separate each step from the overall journey

I’ve got some pretty exciting opportunities and journeys ahead of me. I look forward to taking a few more first steps and ultimately, see where these steps take me.
