Drop the Gloves!

When our son expressed an interest in hockey, I was giddy. I’ve always enjoyed hockey though I never played on the ice. On fact, it has been about three decades since I even threw on a pair of ice skates. I’m not sure why I stopped as an adolescent because I enjoyed it.

Either way, his engagement with the game brought the family together for regular visits to Milwaukee Admirals hockey games and weekly stops at the local ice center to watch hockey practice.

Being around ice so much got the family thinking. Why don’t we all get ice skates?

So we did. Now, we are getting our skating legs beneath us while we visit the local outdoor rink. Maybe the next step will be adding an ice sheet to our very own backyard.
