A Toad a Day

With a 20-acre homestead, it’s easy to find new adventure and treasures every day. Whether it be a new flower or the call of a new bird, every day offers unique opportunities. This week alone, we have witnessed a sandhill crane colt, our first leopard frog, blooming patches of swamp milkweed, a well-preserved deer foot, and of course, more golf balls. Having a golf course as a neighbor always provides us these gems.

But as many new treasures as we encounter, we always stand by our goal: finding a toad each day. We are usually successful, but even when we’re not, the true joy is in the search.
