Mittens

While we were able to add a tractor recently, we also had a loss as well. About three years ago, we added two cats to out family. Brother and sister, we acquired them from a barn as kittens and transferred them to indoor living. Our kids names them Marshmallow (later changed to Mittens) and Shadow Puppet (later shortened to Shadow). Kitten life started out well but soon they let us know they were more interested in barn life. Watching them stalk mice and join us for hikes on the trail are cherished memories. While both had unique and appealing personalities, Mittens was especially lovable and sassy. I loved finding her seemingly pose for pictures in random places around the barn. Unfortunately, her curiosity got the best of her and we lost her in a tragic car accident. We were able to be with her for her final moments and found a special place under her favorite tree to lay here to rest. We visit her regularly and know that while she may no longer bound along on our walks through the prairie, her memory will always live on.
