No Risk, No Reward
During our spring break, we visited one of our favorite parks in Wisconsin - Devil’s Lake State Park. In an absolutely gorgeous part of the state rich with glacial history and glacial till, it does not disappoint.
With three young children who don’t always appreciate being in kid carriers, we often take the “easier” paths when we are hiking the park. However, my oldest daughter is always pushing herself and stretching her limits so when she was given the opportunity to tackle the more challenging, rock climbing side, she didn’t hesitate.
Daddy-daughter time is tricky with two younger siblings enjoying being her shadow so she relished every minute she has alone with either parent. On this day, with wonderful weather and spectacular scenery, she adored every step no matter how high the climb or how steep the descent.
Watching her ponder her next step, see her plan come to fruition, and successfully scale this treacherous trek was both nerve-wracking and pride-inducing.
But as usual, she rocked it, pun intended.
When you don't allow people to take risks, you miss out so so many rewards.
